    CHIP Tenant's Toolkit

    As a tenant in Wyandotte County, KS you have rights that are protected by the State of Kansas and you have responsibilities to your space, landlord, and neighbors while you live in your home. This toolkit will take you through the steps of renting and your rights and responsibilities throughout the process.

  • Kansas Homestead Refund Claim

    The Homestead Refund gives a rebate of a portion of the property taxes paid on a Kansas resident's homestead. It is based on your total household income and has a maximum refund of $700. Those that file for the Kansas Property Tax Relief can receive 75% of their property tax with no maximum limit. Individuals are only eligible for one claim.

  • Senior Tax Rebates

    Sales Tax and Utility rebates are offered to eligible citizens who live in Kansas City, Kansas for a portion of their BPU, Gas or AT&T utility bills and/or have paid sales tax. Homestead Rebates are offered to eligible citizens who live in Wyandotte County, Kansas for a portion of their property taxes.

  • Argentine/Turner Exhaust Report

    With support by the Diesel Health Project, Global Community Monitor, Kansas Sierra Club and community organizer Richard Mabion, the Argentine/Turner Good Neighbor Committee measured the amount of diesel exhaust pollution in neighborhoods bordering the BNSF Argentine Rail Yard.

    Clean Air Now KC and the Union of Concerned Scientists developed this report to examine issues of environmental justice in the Kansas City area. The report illustrates the cumulative exposures to air pollutants that KC is experiencing.
